It’s been a rather quiet week for me this week from a shutter actuation point of view, what with overhauling my galleries (check them out here or use the Galleries drop down in the navigation above) and uploading a decades worth of images to the US Electronic Copyright filing service but I did make the time one misty morning to make a quick trip over to Ashley without really very much in mind other than the need to make something. It was around 20 minutes before sunrise and it was misty. Like really misty. I drove around for a little while peering through the fog looking for something that caught my eye when I stumbled across the scene you see below. I hung around a little and the closer it got to dawn, the more the mist started to clear. I didn’t want it to go completely but nor did I want to make a photograph of a blanket of grey fog. After 10 minutes or so, I felt that it had cleared sufficiently for me to make a good image or two.

All of these images have had one of my custom presets applied in Lightroom, the white balance tweaked and then processed in Nik’s Color Efex Pro 3 with the Midnight filter and some selective control points applied – over the Greyhound on the sign in the top image, and then over the front of the pub in the one above. I’ve removed some telephone wires in the top image too to clean it up, but left them in the middle one as I felt it added something to the image.

And then I couldn’t resist this signpost on the other side of the road, also with the same processing as above. That’s it for today…. got a wedding to edit….
